About Chazen - Incense, Tea & Porcelain
Chazen began with a simple observation: the objects that change a room are rarely the large ones. A vase on a shelf, a bowl on a table, a stick of incense by a window. Each one shifts the mood of a space without asking for attention.
Three materials, one idea
We work with porcelain, incense and tea because they belong together in a home. Porcelain gives the eye somewhere to rest. Incense changes the air. Tea gives the table a reason to be used.
Each is designed as an object first — something that holds its own on a shelf — and as a usable thing second.
Porcelain beyond the cup
Our porcelain range is not only teaware. It includes vases, bowls, incense burners and designed sets, all kiln-finished in small batches. A piece can sit on a dining table, a bedside, or a windowsill.
Incense designed for real rooms
Our incense is hand-rolled and blended for the rooms people actually live in: a desk, a hallway, a small apartment. The holders and burners are made to match.
Chosen to be given
Because the three materials belong together, they also make a considered gift. A porcelain vessel with incense, or a tea set with a piece from the porcelain range, reads as one thought rather than three purchases.
How we work
We source from workshops in China, keep the range narrow, and describe each piece plainly: material, finish, size and what it is for. If something is not right for your space, we would rather you knew before you bought it.
